Sheriff David Cirencione says a 64-year-old ATV rider was airlifted to Strong Memorial Hospital after being pulled from Flint Creek near Ontario Pathways.

It happened Sunday a little before 7 p.m., according to a news release, which indicated that Elkannah Young, 64, of Phelps attempted to pass Flint Creek in his ATV when rushing water tipped it over – sending him off.

He was being pulled from the water when first responders arrived, who transported him to Midlakes High School before being airlifted to Strong Memorial Hospital.

Finger Lakes Ambulance, Phelps Fire Department, and the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office provided assistance at the scene.
