The Yankees were shut down by Cristian Javier through six innings but scored seven runs over the final three innings to grab a 7-1 victory on Friday night and improve to 2-0 on the season.
Oswaldo Cabrera collected four hits and three RBI to lead the way. Juan Soto recorded three hits and a bases-loaded walk. Giancarlo Stanton crushed his first home run of the season, while Austin Wells and Anthony Volpe notched RBI.
Carlos Rodón allowed one run on five hits over 4.1 innings while walking three and striking out four. Nick Burdi, Luke Weaver, Victor González, Caleb Ferguson, and Clayton Beeter all had scoreless appearances.
The Yankees will try to win the series on Saturday with Marcus Stroman on the mound. First pitch is slated for 7:15 p.m.
