The Seneca County Industrial Development Agency (IDA) is set to relocate its offices after many years at the County Office Building. Aiming for a fresh start, the IDA intends to occupy a renovated space in a building it owns at 2456 Route 414 in Seneca Falls. The decision to move was solidified during the IDA Board of Directors’ meeting on March 21, where a contract was approved for architectural designs.

A $9,000 contract with Beardsley Architects and Engineers will pave the way for two schematic designs showcasing potential interior renovations, along with cost estimates for each. The IDA is exploring the possibilities of a closed-door or an open-office layout, planning to utilize a portion of the space for its operations while leasing the remaining area.

Previously serving as a training facility for Excellus BlueCross BlueShield of Rochester until June 2023, the 4,500-square-foot building has been unoccupied since. With the new designs expected for review by May, the IDA is looking forward to revitalizing the space and bringing new opportunities to Seneca Falls.
