Finger Lakes stays chilly this week: Snow showers and highs in the 30s-40s

Spring might be on the calendar for this week across the Finger Lakes, but the weather isn’t ready to match. Expect a chilly and unsettled start to the season, with lots of storms bringing cold air our way. While we’re likely to see some rain and snow, there shouldn’t be any big weather problems.

This Sunday, we’ll have mostly cloudy skies and some light rain showers, thanks to a storm system moving past us. The temperatures will hover in the upper 40s, and any new rain won’t add up to much. Snow showers might pop up tonight, but don’t worry about them piling up; we’re just expecting a light dusting at most.

As we move into the week, the weather stays cool with more chances for snow showers, especially on Monday and Tuesday. But since it’s going to be in the low 40s, any snow that does fall won’t stick around for long. Even as spring officially starts Tuesday night, it’ll still feel more like winter, so keep your warm clothes handy. The rest of the week will be cold, with a bit of a warm-up expected by Friday.
