The Lyons boys basketball team just keeps rolling as they took down Byron-Bergen, 61-45, on Wednesday night at Bloomfield High School to advance to its Section V-leading 12th New York State Far West Regional.

Lyons (22-2), who was missing starting point guard Mike Briggs due to an injury, was in control for nearly the entire game despite foul trouble and jumped ahead by double digits twice, but Byron-Bergen (20-5) did not go away quietly. The Bees cut the Lions lead to 49-43 with just over four minutes remaining before Lyons closed it out with a 12-2 run to secure the victory.

Devyn Williams led Lyons with a game-high 19 points, while Stephen LeBrecht poured in 16, and Jaheim Morris tallied 12. Jamire Johnson, facing two early fouls, scored seven points, all of which came in the final 16 minutes.
