Tenney holds law enforcement roundtable with area leaders in Victor

Cayuga County Sheriff Brian Schenck reported that he, along with Undersheriff Peenstra and other local law enforcement and elected officials, attended a Law Enforcement Roundtable in Victor. Hosted by Representative Claudia Tenney, the meeting aimed to address a range of public safety challenges currently facing the community. Topics of discussion included issues related to open borders, bail reform, discovery mandates, recruitment, and the ongoing mental health crisis.

The roundtable saw the participation of District Attorney Brittany Grome Antonacci, Auburn Police Department Chief Jim Slayton, Assemblyman John Lemondes, as well as sheriffs, chiefs, district attorneys, correctional officers, and elected representatives from the area. This gathering underscored the collaborative effort required to tackle the complex issues impacting public safety across Cayuga County and beyond.

Expressing gratitude to Representative Tenney for organizing the event, Sheriff Schenck highlighted the roundtable’s focus on finding common-sense solutions to enhance community safety.
