Romulus man faces serious charges after fleeing rollover accident

Seneca County Sheriff Tim Thompson announced the arrest of Scott T. Jackson, 53, of Romulus on charges of DWI and other offenses following a rollover accident in the town of Romulus on January 26. Jackson is accused of losing control of his vehicle while intoxicated, resulting in the vehicle striking a drainage ditch and overturning multiple times. Following the incident, Jackson fled the scene but was subsequently located and taken into custody.

The accident, which occurred around 12:22 a.m. on State Route 96, led to Jackson being transported to Strong Memorial Hospital with serious, though not life-threatening, injuries. In addition to DWI, Jackson faces charges of aggravated unlicensed operation and leaving the scene of an accident.

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office, aided by the Romulus Volunteer Fire Department and South Seneca Ambulance, is conducting further investigations, with additional charges pending. Jackson has been released on appearance and traffic tickets, pending future court proceedings.
