GoFundMe started for family after fire destroys Wayne home: Multiple pets lost, as nine departments called to fight flames

A family in Wayne County lost everything including three pets in a blaze that destroyed a home on Wayne Center Road around 11 a.m. on Tuesday. A GoFundMe has been started for the family, who lost two dogs and a cat in the blaze.

According to our partners at the Cayuga/Seneca Fire Wire, Clyde, Rose, Wallington, North Rose, Savannah, Wolcott, Marbletown, Red Creek, and Lyons were all called to the scene. The fire rekindled later in the afternoon, according to scanner traffic. However, the home was a complete loss after the initial fire.

One person was transported to a local hospital following the fire. The extent of their injuries could not be confirmed Tuesday night.

Eastern Wayne transported the victim to the hospital. Early reports from the scene indicated that a wood stove could have been to blame for the blaze.
