Steuben County man sentenced to 10 years for child porn conviction

John Buckley, 61, of Wayland, New York, was sentenced to 10 years in prison for possession of child pornography, as announced by U.S. Attorney Trini E. Ross. Chief U.S. District Judge Elizabeth A. Wolford issued the sentence following Buckley’s conviction.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Kyle P. Rossi, who managed the case, revealed that Buckley used his cellphone to take sexually explicit photos of a minor female between August and December 2021. A federal search warrant executed by the FBI on August 30, 2022, led to the discovery of 31 images containing child pornography on his cellphone, including images of the minor female.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation, led by Special Agent-in-Charge Matthew Miraglia, conducted the investigation, with additional support from the FBI Chicago Field Office and the Joliet, Illinois Police Department. This sentencing marks a significant step in the fight against child exploitation and abuse.
