Livonia man charged with assault and burglary after home invasion

Eric Fowler, a 35-year-old resident of Livonia, faces multiple charges after allegedly breaking into a neighbor’s home and assaulting a tenant. The incident, reported by the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office, occurred when the victims returned home to find Fowler inside without permission.

The situation escalated when Fowler reportedly punched one of the victims in the face, an act witnessed by a minor under the age of 17. Investigators also found that several items in the home had been damaged during the incident.

Upon his arrest, Fowler resisted deputies and was found to be in possession of PCP, a controlled substance. His charges include two counts of second-degree burglary, third-degree criminal mischief, fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, third-degree assault, endangering the welfare of a child, and resisting arrest.

Fowler is currently detained at the Livingston County Jail. This case underscores the serious nature of home invasion crimes and the impact they have on victims and the community. The Livingston County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the incident.
