Jack Quinn scored for the third time in five games since making his season debut, while Casey Mittelstadt netted his 10th. Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen stopped 18-of-20 shots.
Buffalo went 0-for-1 on the man advantage and 1-for-1 on the penalty kill.
The Sabres will try to close out 2023 with back-to-back wins when they visit the Ottawa Senators on Sunday at 6 p.m.
