Destiny USA, a major shopping mall in Syracuse, experienced a lockdown on Saturday night, December 23, following reports of possible shots fired.
The Syracuse Police Department responded to the situation, only to discover that the cause of the alarm was a group of teenagers firing a toy gun with plastic pellets.
The incident occurred in the older section of the mall, according to authorities.
The SPD confirmed that there was no active shooter present at Destiny USA, and there was no need for a shelter-in-place or evacuation.
