Kaitlyn Hoskins, 21, and Christian Brown, 20, both from Elmira, were apprehended in Virginia after leading authorities on a high-speed chase in a stolen pickup truck.

The incident unfolded on December 14 when a Caroline County Sheriff’s Office deputy attempted to stop a white Chevrolet pickup on Route 2 near Bowling Green, Virginia.

Upon activating his emergency lights, the deputy triggered a pursuit as the truck accelerated, reaching speeds exceeding 100 miles per hour. The chase eventually concluded when the truck ran out of fuel, allowing deputies to arrest the Elmira pair.

Investigations following the arrest revealed that the truck had been reported stolen from Elmira after a burglary at a rail station.

Hoskins faces charges including possession of stolen property, eluding law enforcement, and reckless driving, and is currently held in the Pamunkey Regional Jail without bail. Brown, charged with possession of stolen property, is detained in the same facility on a $5,000 bond.

The Caroline County authorities are collaborating with Elmira law enforcement, indicating that additional charges against Hoskins and Brown are pending in relation to the theft and ensuing chase.
