The Schuyler County Industrial Development Agency (IDA) has recently made public the scoring rubrics used in deciding the new lease for the Seneca Harbor Marina property.
According to reporting by WENY News, there were three proposals for the property including Horseheads Brewing Seneca Lake, the previous lessee, and Lucky Hare Brewing.
In October, an IDA committee of four members reviewed five proposals for the lease, eventually narrowing it down to these two contenders. The proposals were scored based on specific criteria, initially and then again after a review of responses to follow-up questions from the IDA.
In the final scoring, Horseheads Brewing scored 47, while Lucky Hare Brewing led with a score of 49.
This scoring led to the IDA’s decision on October 25 to recommend Lucky Hare Brewing for the new lease agreement. However, during the November 8 meeting, the board delayed formalizing the lease due to concerns raised about transparency in the review process.
These concerns were addressed with the release of the scored rubrics. Horseheads Brewing has since vacated the property at the Seneca Harbor Marina.
The IDA’s next meeting is slated for 5 p.m. today and expected to result in the authorization of the new lease with Lucky Hare Brewing.
