Residents of the North Rose-Wolcott Central School District are set to vote on a significant $16.8 million capital improvement project, aimed at enhancing educational facilities across the district.

The vote, scheduled for today, will take place at the North Rose-Wolcott High School from 12 to 8 p.m.

The proposed project includes a wide range of renovations and improvements at North Rose Elementary School, Leavenworth Middle School, and the high school, covering everything from building reconstructions and alterations to the addition of an approximately 1,000-square-foot storage facility.

The comprehensive plan also encompasses upgrades to parking areas, athletic fields, and playing fields. This will be complemented by necessary demolition works and improvements in utilities, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems.

To finance this project, the district plans to use $4.25 million from its capital reserve, approved by voters in May 2022. The balance will be raised through a tax levy, which will be determined and collected in annual installments by the Board of Education.

The project also involves issuing bonds and notes not exceeding $12,613,000, with voters being asked to agree to the payment of the principal and interest on these obligations. This vote represents a pivotal decision for the community, impacting the future quality of educational infrastructure in the district.
