The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of several people are a dog was left to starve to death on Cress Road in Phelps.
On November 24, deputies found a dog that had been left in an outdoor kennel at 1074 Cress Road after a complaint.
The dog’s remains were found wrapped in a blanket and deputies brought the animal to a nearby hospital for a necropsy. The results showed the dog, named Covid, died from starvation.
Alicia Wright, 36; Corey DiSanto, 37; Robert Walker, 60; and Amy Walker, 54, all of Phelps were arrested for aggravated cruelty to animals.
Deputies say all four were aware of the situation involving the dog, which resulted in the felony charges against each.
Authorities said additional dogs were found at that address and seized.
