As Thanksgiving approaches, residents in the Finger Lakes and Central New York can plan their last-minute grocery runs and shopping needs around the holiday hours of various retailers.

Wegmans Food Markets, Tops Friendly Markets, ALDI, Walmart, and pharmacy chains including CVS, Walgreens, and Rite Aid have announced their operating hours for the upcoming holiday season.

Wegmans stores will maintain special hours during the holiday period, closing at 4 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day and reopening at 6 a.m. on Black Friday. The stores will also close early on Christmas Eve at 6 p.m., remain closed on Christmas Day, and reopen at 6 a.m. on December 26. For New Year’s celebrations, Wegmans will close at 8 p.m. on New Year’s Eve and reopen at 6 a.m. on New Year’s Day.

Tops Friendly Markets will follow a similar schedule, with most stores closing at 4 p.m. on Thanksgiving, and various opening times on Black Friday, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, and New Year’s Day, based on the store’s regular hours.

ALDI stores will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day, with reduced hours on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.

Walmart, which includes full-service grocery stores in its Supercenter locations, will be closed on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day, but open for regular hours on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.

CVS Pharmacy locations, along with Walgreens and Rite Aid, are expected to be open during regular hours on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, and New Year’s Day, although customers are advised to check with their local stores for specific hours or possible reduced operations.
