Brian Scanlan, the newly elected Cayuga County Clerk, has been issued a ticket for a hit-and-run incident that occurred on Saturday night in the town of Owasco.

According to Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office, Scanlan, who won the election last week, collided with a parked car in front of 12 Fairway Drive around 8 p.m.

The incident was classified as a property damage hit-and-run.

Scanlan later appeared at the sheriff’s office to acknowledge his involvement in the accident and was subsequently ticketed for leaving the scene, a violation under the law.

He’s due in court later this month.
