The New York State Thruway Authority has recently opened two newly refurbished service areas as part of an extensive $450 million renovation project aimed at enhancing all 27 service areas on the thruway.
The Seneca and Schuyler service areas now welcome travelers with modern facilities and a range of amenities.
At the Seneca Service Area, located between Exits 44 and 45 on Interstate 90 West, the public can now enjoy a nearly 6,000-square-foot facility complete with outdoor seating, a dog walking area, and a private nursing space.
For dining, the service area currently offers Popeyes and Apple C-Store, along with Taste NY Food and Drink Products, with additional dining options to be introduced later.
The Schuyler Service Area, situated between Exits 30 and 31 on the same interstate, mirrors the amenities and dining experiences of the Seneca location. F
uture plans for both service areas include the installation of digital tourism kiosks and four high-speed electric vehicle (EV) chargers. As the Thruway Authority continues its redevelopment efforts, travelers can keep informed about the status of each service area at the Thruway’s official website.
