A shooting incident in downtown Geneva has left a 33-year-old man wounded, city police reported Thursday.
The Geneva Police Department’s Uniformed Division officers were called to the scene near Main and Castle Streets around 1:40 a.m. after gunshots were heard. They found the victim at Byrne Dairy, located at 201 Castle Street, with gunshot injuries to his legs.
First responders provided immediate medical attention to the wounded man before he was transported to a Rochester medical facility.
According to authorities, he is now stable. The Geneva Police Department has indicated that the incident appears to be an isolated event and assures that there is no additional danger to the community at present.
