Authorities say a Rochester woman has been arrested after making over $10,000 worth of fraudulent returns to stores across Ontario and Monroe counties.
Theresa Colaizzi, 22, was arrested on October 20 after a lengthy investigation.
She’s accused of purchasing items from HomeGoods, Marshalls, HomeSense, and T.J. Maxx in Monroe and Ontario Counties, then fraudulently returning them to get a double-refund.
All told, more than $10,000 was illegally taken home by Colaizzi through the scam.
She was charged with third- and fourth-degree grand larceny, as well as first-degree scheme to defraud.
All of the charges will be answered at a later date.
