Victor Farmington Library showcased its freshly renovated east wing on Monday, celebrating the update in the company of community leaders and representatives from the Ontario and Farmington Chamber of Commerce. Despite the brief ceremony, the renovated Malone Room, a part of the updated space, was promptly utilized for a chair yoga session.
Library Director Tim Niver commented on the importance of the renovations, emphasizing its role in making the library a more modern and relevant hub for the community. Upgrades include the replacement of a decades-old rug with laminate tile for a contemporary appearance and ease of maintenance.

The revamp further included updates to public restrooms, kitchen areas, staff meeting spots, and a fresh coat of paint. The renovation decision followed after a May 2022 vote dismissed a proposed $16.6 million plan for a significant library expansion and relocation.
Funding for the renovation came through a blend of New York State Construction Aid, generous donations from library patrons, and grants provided to Ontario County under the Federal American Rescue Plan Act.
