In two separate cases at Cayuga County Court, two individuals entered guilty pleas that will see them serving time in prison.

Brandon Lowe, a 37-year-old Auburn resident, pleaded guilty to several charges including second-degree burglary, first-degree attempted rape, and first-degree sexual abuse, stemming from an incident where he admitted to sexually assaulting a woman after violating a protection order against him.

The incident occurred in July 2022 when Lowe entered the woman’s home without permission, leading to an altercation and subsequent assault. Quick response by the Auburn police, prompted by a third-party 911 call reporting the violation of the protection order, led to Lowe’s apprehension during the assault.

In the second case, Christopher Liddle, 35, of Fleming, pleaded guilty to second-degree attempted assault after he intentionally fled from police officers in July, causing injury to an Auburn officer during the pursuit.

The officer was attempting to arrest Liddle on an unrelated warrant when the injury occurred. Liddle is set to be sentenced to two to four years in state prison, which will run consecutively to his parole violation.
