On September 21 two Geneva residents were taken into custody following a drug investigation involving multiple agencies.
Bryant Byrd and Samantha Mallard were apprehended by the Sheriff’s Office Special Investigation Division following a collaborative drug investigation by the Geneva Police Department and the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office.
Initiated by anonymous tips, the investigation revealed that Byrd and Mallard had been distributing crack cocaine throughout the City of Geneva and the Town of Geneva.
Mallard was caught in possession of a substantial amount of crack cocaine prepared for sale at the time of arrest.
Both individuals face serious charges; Mallard is charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance as a Class B Felony; and Byrd is charged with Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance as a Class B Felony.
Mallard was released at arraignment while Byrd, currently on parole, remains in custody at the Ontario County Jail without bail, awaiting further proceedings.
This operation, reflecting inter-agency collaboration, also received assistance from the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office and New York State Police, highlighting the combined efforts of multiple law enforcement entities to combat drug-related crimes and ensure community safety.
