Victor will unveil new dog park by spring 2024

Dog owners in Victor have something to be excited about.

Harlan Fisher Park, situated off 85 Lynaugh Road, will host a state-of-the-art dog park by spring 2024. The park promises agility features and shaded sections, ensuring dogs get an optimal mix of exercise and relaxation.

Director Brian Emelson recalled the genesis of the project, highlighting it as a prominent component of the town’s Parks and Recreation Master Plan since 2019. Managed by Victor’s Parks and Recreation Department, the three-stage construction benefits from in-house labor, leading to significant cost savings.

As for operational details, the park will introduce an electronic gate system for entry, requiring dog owners to pay an annual fee and provide pertinent dog medical data. The inclusion of such features, as Emelson detailed, aims to monitor park usage, ensuring it doesn’t breach capacity and guarantees priority for local residents.

Safety measures, including a fence and a natural buffer zone of shrubs and trees, have been integrated into the design.
