Effective immediately, New York employers with four or more employees are mandated to disclose the minimum and maximum salary ranges in all job advertisements, as part of a new law aimed at fostering pay transparency.
Gov. Kathy Hochul, who signed the legislation last year, emphasized the significance of the move.
“New York stands at the forefront of ensuring workplace fairness and equity with the enactment of our pay transparency law,” Hochul said.
The governor underscored the historic pay disparities that have exacerbated inequalities, particularly impacting women and people of color, and expressed hope that the new measure would rectify such longstanding issues.
