The Finger Lakes Workforce Investment Board (FLWIB) has named The Arc Ontario as the “Finger Lakes Hires Business of the Week,” recognizing its contribution to the community and its unique workplace culture.

The Arc Ontario, founded in 1954 by a group of parents in Geneva, NY, began with the goal of expanding opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Over the years, the Canandaigua-based agency has evolved to provide over 40 different services, continuously advocating for inclusivity and respect for those with disabilities.

Senator Pam Helming praised The Arc Ontario’s dedication, particularly highlighting Executive Director Ann Scheetz’s leadership in creating initiatives that “promote independence, improve quality of life, and empower individuals with developmental disabilities.”

The organization stands out for not only its advocacy but its dedication to its staff’s well-being, offering a range of benefits including fitness classes, educational training, and wellness programs. Those interested in opportunities at The Arc Ontario are directed to the Finger Lakes Works website for more information.
