Ithaca intruder jailed on no bail after resident stabs him during home invasion

Ithaca Police Officers rushed to West Village Apartments on Friday, September 1, shortly before 11 p.m., following reports of a domestic disturbance.


Upon arrival, officers discovered that Donta Braxton, 48, had forcefully entered an apartment and engaged in a physical altercation with a resident.

The resident, acting in self-defense, stabbed Braxton, who sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

After receiving treatment at Cayuga Medical Center, Braxton was arrested and subsequently charged with burglary, endangering the welfare of a child, and harassment.

Additionally, active warrants from the Ithaca Police Department were served at the time of his arrest. Braxton was arraigned and sent to the Tompkins County Jail without bail.
