Jeremiah Jordan was sentenced on Aug. 25 to 20 years to life in New York State Prison following his conviction on charges of second-degree murder and tampering with physical evidence.
The sentencing details, revealed by Tompkins County District Attorney Matthew Van Houten on Aug. 30, revolve around the fatal stabbing of Michael Monroe along Ithaca’s Six Mile Creek Walk on October 28, 2022.
Jordan was found guilty in July. Despite the prosecution’s push for the harshest sentence of 25 years to life, Jordan received a lesser sentence.
