UPDATE: State police ID victim in fatal hit-and-run in Sodus, but driver remains at-large

New details have emerged regarding a hit-and-run that took place over the weekend in Sodus, resulting in a fatality.


State Police in Williamson reported that they were alerted to an incident on Lake Road near Maple Avenue shortly after 5:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 26.

Upon arrival, officers found a deceased male, identified as Joshua W. Clark, 46, of Ontario. The vehicle involved in the incident has not yet been located.

Authorities are urging anyone with information, especially local residents with surveillance footage, to come forward and assist with the ongoing investigation. Anyone with potential leads can reach out to the State Police at 585-398-4100.

The New York State Police in Wolcott are investigating a deadly pedestrian accident that took place on Lake Road near Maple Avenue in the town of Sodus during the early-morning hours of August 26, 2023.
