The International Economic Development Council (IEDC) has reaffirmed the status of Ithaca Area Economic Development (IAED) as an Accredited Economic Development Organization (AEDO), marking its place among only 73 globally accredited entities.
First gaining this distinction in 2020, the IAED’s recent reaccreditation follows three years of notable contributions as an AEDO member. Heather McDaniel, IAED President, expressed pride in the team’s consistent achievements, emphasizing that the recognition underscores their commitment to bolstering economic growth within Ithaca, Tompkins County, and Central New York State.
The comprehensive AEDO accreditation process includes a thorough peer review, aligning economic development organizations with industry standards. Nathan Ohle, IEDC President and CEO, commended IAED’s dedication, technical prowess, and unwavering professionalism. This reaccreditation not only assures the community of IAED’s excellence but also signifies the organization’s proactive approach, as highlighted by IEDC’s recent commendation.
