Alex Andrade, 12, was declared dead on the scene by the Steuben County Coroner.

A tragic accident on Interstate 390 between Dansville and Wayland Saturday morning resulted in the deaths of two people, one of whom was a pregnant woman.

The van, which had 13 occupants onboard from three families, was en route from Norristown, Pennsylvania to Niagara Falls when it rolled over, allegedly due to an issue with a rear passenger tire.

State police confirmed that the pregnant woman passed away after being taken to Noyes Hospital in Dansville, but medical professionals were able to save her baby. The infant was later transferred to Strong Memorial Hospital for further care.

While the investigation is ongoing, and as authorities continue notifying next of kin, details regarding the identities and conditions of the victims remain withheld. Traffic was temporarily halted on the interstate as emergency responders managed the scene.
