Mets roll past Cardinals for fourth straight win

The New York Mets (58-66) rolled past the St. Louis Cardinals (54-70), 13-2, on Saturday night at Busch Stadium, extending their win streak to four games.

New York’s offense had a big day at the plate, pounding out 13 hits, including three home runs. Daniel Vogelbach led the way with a grand slam, his tenth long ball of the season. Pete Alonso smacked his 38th homer while DJ Stewart belted his fifth. Francisco Lindor and Jeff McNeil chipped in RBI.

Kodai Senga tossed seven innings of one-run ball while striking out five, improving to 10-6 on the season. Vinny Nittoli recorded the final six outs while surrendering a run.

The Mets will go for the four-game sweep of the Cardinals on Sunday at 2:15 p.m.
