Timothy Wright, a 33-year-old resident of Phelps, was sentenced to 20 years in prison Tuesday for charges related to child pornography and methamphetamine distribution.
The investigation into Wright commenced in July 2019 when Snapchat flagged suspicious uploads to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
A police search in May 2020 unveiled 8,462 photos and videos of child pornography at Wright’s residence, with some content showing Wright engaging in sexual misconduct with a minor.
Further investigation revealed Wright’s involvement in the drug trade, as he supplied methamphetamine to his wife, Alicia Wright, who subsequently sold the drugs to an undercover officer. Authorities discovered about $10,000 in cash and over 2 ounces of methamphetamine in their possession. Alicia Wright has since been sentenced to one year in prison.
