One of the last Friendly’s restaurants in New York has closed: How many are left?

The Friendly’s restaurant located on Miracle Mile in Horseheads, New York, has permanently shut its doors.

Initially, a sign placed on the door over the weekend cited a lack of air conditioning as the reason for closure, leading many to believe that the restaurant would reopen at a later date.

However, on Tuesday afternoon, Friendly’s employees confirmed to WETM-TV that the restaurant had permanently closed over the weekend, although no specific reason for the closure was provided.

The employees of the closed location have been offered the option to transfer to the nearest Friendly’s in Johnson City. According to Friendly’s website, this closure leaves only six Friendly’s locations remaining open in New York State.
