Auburn prison official demoted after road rage incident caught on camera (video)

A new video has emerged online showing the road rage incident involving the now-demoted Deputy Superintendent of Security of the Auburn Correctional Facility, Gregory P. Stachowski.

The incident, which unfolded on I-86 and Route 13 in Horseheads, has resulted in Stachowski being charged with felony grand larceny and official misconduct, according to New York State Police.

The video reveals an off-camera victim questioning Stachowski’s misuse of his corrections officer badge during the confrontation.

The New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision has reported that Stachowski has been demoted to Captain and reassigned to Wende Correctional Facility effective July 21.

Following this, he was suspended effective July 25, with the department affirming that the investigation into the incident is still ongoing. Stachowski has been issued an appearance ticket by State police and is scheduled to appear in Horseheads Town Court on August 1.
