The ‘Spotted Duck’ located in Penn Yan has been voted as America’s best ice cream shop in a challenge initiated by popular YouTuber Cohen Thompson.
Thompson, who has over 486,000 subscribers, sought out viewer recommendations for the competition, with ‘Spotted Duck’ frequently nominated.
The unique selling point of ‘Spotted Duck’ is its focus on Duck Egg frozen custard, a specialty of the shop and, as owner Sam Solomon puts it, the only such offering in the country. The ‘Spotted Duck’ stands as a testament to local, sustainable production.
Despite the competition from ice cream shops across 48 states, ‘Spotted Duck’ managed to secure a high rating of 9.7, eventually clinching the top spot.
