There will be an unexpected change in leadership at the Clifton Springs YMCA.
The Board of Directors announced this week that Todd Freelove, Director of the Clifton Springs YMCA was resigning, effective Saturday.
“Todd has been instrumental in the completion of the capital improvements at both the Palace building and the legacy Y building and in the overall growth of the Y. His passion for the Y has been evident in his tenure. While we support Todd in his decision to leave, we will miss him deeply,” the Board said in a statement.
Freelove opened up to the Finger Lakes Times about the decision, noting long hours and lost time with family led to it.
The Y’s board said despite the loss it would be business as usual for Y members in Clifton Springs.
“We want to ensure the YMCA members and the community that we will continue to serve you with the care and compassion that you value. David Michaels, Bob Sollene, and Garrett Bunce will be conducting business as usual. David Michaels has graciously agreed to serve as the interim Director until we appoint a permanent director. We are looking forward to working with David in his expanded capacity and appreciate his stepping up to this new challenge,” they said.
