Deputies report the arrest of a Wayne County duo following an investigation at Swifts Landing in the town of Palmyra.
Lindsey Mcevoy, 30, and John Whitenight, 57, both of Palmyra were arrested after the incident during the early morning hours on Saturday.
Mcevoy was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated. Deputies say they were conducting a property check at the closed Swifts Landing Park when she entered. Deputies advised her that the park was closed. However, instead of leaving without incident, Mcevoy got out of the vehicle after putting it in reverse.
Eventually the car was stopped and field sobriety tests, along with a breath sample resulted in the DWI arrest.
Deputies say Mcevoy’s BAC was nearly three times the legal limit at 0.23%.
Whitenight was also arrested for driving while intoxicated after showing signs of intoxication at the scene. He was found to have a BAC of 0.15%.
Both were issued appearance tickets for local court.
