Yankees lose two of three to Cardinals

The New York Yankees (46-38) offense was silenced in a 5-1 loss to the St. Louis Cardinals (35-48) on Sunday afternoon at Busch Stadium.

Jordan Montgomery no-hit the Yankees through 5 2/3 innings before Jake Bauers put them on the board with an RBI double. Aside from that, they managed just two hits.

Gerrit Cole gave up a pair of runs over six innings of work. Jimmy Cordero allowed three runs in relief, including a two-run homer.

The Yankees will head home to begin a four-game series with the Baltimore Orioles in the Bronx on Monday at 7:05 p.m.
