Plans for a new public art installation at the heart of Auburn are in motion following a design approval by the Auburn Public Arts Commission.
The approved design, the brainchild of Elbridge’s Unite Two Design, is set to be erected at the intersection of South and Genesee Streets, contributing to Auburn’s distinctive cityscape.
Jesse Kline of the Business Improvement District told Finger Lakes News Radio that these installations are key in cultivating Auburn as a unique destination and supporting local artists. She added the creative ventures involved in these projects provide a platform for the city’s vibrant artistic community to showcase their talent.
The installation, funded by Auburn’s Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI), is scheduled for fabrication in the fall and winter of 2023, with an anticipated unveiling in the spring of 2024.
