Auburn City Council members on Thursday greenlit a resolution to contract MedEx Billing, a Genesee County-based company, as the new billing provider for the municipality’s ambulance service.
The Citizen reports that the change comes after a request for proposals in April elicited responses from six different companies.
MedEx is scheduled to commence billing services around August 1, according to the resolution published on Auburn’s official website.
City Manager Jeff Dygert announced at the meeting that MedEx would replace the incumbent provider, Quick Med Claims, due to the city’s concerns about responsiveness, accuracy of data, and follow-up.
