The New York Yankees (41-33) snapped their streak of four straight winless series with a 4-2 victory over the Seattle Mariners (35-37) on Wednesday night at Yankee Stadium.
Jhony Brito was dominant in his spot start, while Jake Bauers, Billy McKinney, and Anthony Volpe powered the Bronx Bombers to a win.
Brito tossed 5 2/3 scoreless frames while allowing just two hits and one walk. The right-hander also struck out three and picked up his fourth big-league victory.
Bauers gave New York a 2-0 lead in the third with his sixth home run of the season.
McKinney extended the lead in the fourth with his third long ball. He has reached base safely in all 12 games with the Yankees and has hit safely in 11.
Volpe added to the lead in the seventh with his 10th homer and first since June 4.
The Yankees will go for the three-game sweep on Thursday with Domingo Germán on the bump. The first pitch is set for 7:05 p.m.
