Marc Simmons, founder of Simco HR and Simco Capital, has been named the Business Person of the Year in a joint announcement by the Ontario Chamber and the Canandaigua Rotary Club.
A SUNY Buffalo alumnus, Simmons embarked on his career at Merrill Lynch and Bear Sterns before establishing Simco Services in 2007 in his hometown of Canandaigua.
The firm, now known as Simco HR, offers a variety of administrative services such as HR, benefits, risk management, insurance, and payroll, while Simco Capital extends personal insurance services.

Simmons, known for his business credo “Great people make great companies,” has not only expanded his enterprise but also made significant contributions to local businesses and non-profit organizations.
His companies, SimcoHR and Simco Capital, have been recipients of several accolades including the Chamber’s Visionary of the Year in 2020, Best Insurance Agency in Rochester in 2020, and a top three ranking for Best Insurance Company in the Finger Lakes region, highlighting their remarkable impact in the business community.
