The New York Mets (33-37) had their two-game win streak end on Saturday evening at Citi Field with a 5-3 loss to the National League-worst St. Louis Cardinals (28-43).
Kodai Senga gave four runs over 6 2/3 innings of work, and the offense couldn’t string enough hits together.
Brandon Nimmo hit a leadoff home run, his seventh of the season. Luis Guillorme provided the rest of the offense with his first homer, a two-run shot.
The Mets will try to bounce back and win the series on Sunday at 1:10 p.m. Carlos Carrasco will take the mound.
