Country music star Lainey Wilson will kick off NYS Fair

Acclaimed country music artist, Lainey Wilson, is set to perform on opening day of the New York State Fair, as announced by the fair authorities on Thursday.

Wilson celebrated for her hit tracks like “Heart Like a Truck,” “Things a Man Oughta Know,” and “Watermelon Moonshine,” will grace the newly renamed Suburban Park Stage at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 23.

Her recent collaborations with Hardy and Cole Swindell are also widely recognized.

Coming off a successful stint hosting the Country Music Association Festival last week, Wilson was the top female artist at both the Academy of Country Music and CMT Country Music Awards this spring. She earned four ACM Awards in May, including Female Artist of the Year and Album of the Year.

Her accolades also extend to the CMT Music Awards where she won Female Video of the Year and Collaborative Video of the Year. The fair, which runs from Wednesday, Aug. 23 through Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 4, will also feature performances by artists such as Chubby Checker, Quiet Riot, Theory of a Deadman, and Mary Lambert among others.
