Clyde man hits state trooper, flees deputies prompting chase in Rose: Multiple charges pending

Deputies made an arrest overnight in Wayne County after a disturbance that originated in the town of Rose and concluded in the village of Clyde.

Evan Rattray, 37, was arrested after an incident where deputies responded to assist New York State Police on a disturbance call.

During the incident, Rattray tried to strike a state trooper with a weapon, then fled on foot.

He was located in a field east of Route 414 by deputies. When confronted by officers, he threw a weapon at law enforcement – barely missing one of the deputies’ heads.

Rattray was taken into custody for one count of criminal possession of a weapon and one count of menacing.

Deputies said he would face additional charges from state police, but those were not immediately available.

Rattray was transported to the Wayne County Jail for processing.
