A block party in Syracuse, promoted on social media and attended by approximately 200 people, turned chaotic resulting in 13 victims being shot, stabbed, or hit by a car.

Syracuse police responded to a shots fired complaint early Sunday morning and discovered a scene of mayhem with people fleeing in all directions.

Officials said that all 13 victims, ranging in age from 17 to 25, are in stable condition and expected to survive. Officials added such pop-up parties advertised on social media are not uncommon in the city.

The event in question appeared to be a gathering of high school graduates and college students returning home.

While surveillance footage is being reviewed, the police anticipate a lengthy investigation due to the number of victims involved, and no suspects have been identified at this time. Authorities are urging community members to come forward with any information related to the incident.
