State police gave an update on the pursuit and crash that happened in Monroe County after officers attempted a traffic stop.
On Friday around 11 p.m. troopers attempted to stop a vehicle for no plates on Lake Avenue in Rochester. The driver, later identified as Adam Schafer, 29, of Rochester, failed to comply and fled.
He shut off his headlights and drove off at a high rate of speed.
A short time later Schafer was involved in a head-on crash.
Both Schafer and the driver of the second vehicle were sent to Strong Memorial Hospital. The person in the second vehicle suffered serious, but not life threatening injuries.
Criminal charges are pending, but those were not detailed by troopers.
