A child was sent to a hospital in Syracuse after being hit by a vehicle in a crosswalk.
The accident happened around 8:30 a.m. on Thursday in Auburn near Seward Elementary School, according to police.
The child suffered non-life threatening injuries and was transported to Upstate University Hospital.
Police added that the child was being accompanied by a crossing guard and walking in a crosswalk during the incident.
The driver, not identified, but said to be 85-years-old remained at the scene and was cooperative. They were ticketed for failure to yield the right of way.
Police said a driver review would be forwarded to the state Department of Motor Vehicles in Albany.
